San Pardo Parade

San Pardo Parade

Each village has its own centuries-old traditions and San Pardo in Larino is one of those events handed down from generation to generation where people of the village work all year round preparing “wagons” adorned with papier-mâché flowers in honor of San Pardo, patron saint of the village. Nowadays there are 118 wagon pulled by two oxen trained for the parade and religious procession that carries Saint Pardo through the streets of the village. It is a religious tradition that perfectly combines with craftsmanship: wagons show all their beauty thanks to embroidered fabrics and colorful hand-made flowers! It is also a way to know about typical food and wine of the place, have a chat with local people as well learn about stories and capture the spirit of Molise.
