Cyprus Black Salt – Organic – is winning the world of Foodies more and more, although little is known about its properties and no scientific research has been conducted on it to date.  Much is yet to be discovered.  Extracted by evaporation on the coastline of Cyprus, it is rich in charcoal, giving it detoxifying power – absorbing gases and toxins – further enhancing its beneficial properties.

Each crystal of Cyprian Black Salt, in fact, includes sodium, calcium, potassium, manganese, zinc, iron, copper and iodine without any artificial additives.  The downside is that it tends to remain crisp.

Foodies like the Black Salt of Cyprus for its color.  Thanks to the addition of activated carbon obtained from the combustion of softwood bark – in particular lime, birch and willow – the color and its pyramidal shape give the salt a decorative function.  Combining this unique color with the salt’s health properties, its historical origin, and its “sweet” flavor make it a favorite of Foodies.  Its aesthetic appeal is best enjoyed with light foods.
