Wine Jelly

Instructions

  1. Soak the gelatin in cold water
  2. Pour into a saucepan the wine and brown sugar
  3. Add gelatin after having drained it well
  4. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil. Since it begins to boil simmer for 5 minutes till ready
  5. When the mixture has cooled, fill sterilized glass jars and put in the refrigerator for solidification
  6. Leave it in the storeroom for at least 10 days.

Serving using a glass or porcelain bowl and a knife. The jelly should be spread as a “whisker”,                                                                                                        gracefully, without exaggeration.

Ingredients

The Wine Jelly is really versatile and replaces the honey in many combinations. Perfect with cheese, meat, sausages, pies and bread. It can be flavored as liked (nutmeg, pepper, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, vanilla, various spices ….).
It is soft and it can be prepared with red or white top quality wine and … why not … even with Champagne!

1 bottle of red or white top quality wine
500 gr of brown sugar
1 sheet of gelatine
It is possible to add … cinnamon, cloves and various spices to taste
