- Soak the lentils for two hours.
- Clean, peel and coarsely chop the onion, carrots and celery.
- Pour everything into a saucepan with 5 cups of water.
- Add salt and boil for 40 minutes.
- Add the lentils and boil for another 35 minutes.
- When the lentils are cooked, mix all together.
- Add turmeric and ginger.
- Garnish with herbs.
