Mint Tea – The Ritual

Mint Tea – The Ritual

Tea is a special drink, different from the others because, when it becomes ritual, it allows us to see the greatness in small things. The Rite of Tea gives us not only the pleasure of solitude, but also the encounter, the silkiness of a true friendship and allows us to explore floral, fruity, exotic, intoxicating worlds.

What about desserts and cucumber canapés that invite us to share the beauty of a bone-china and the goodness of a Chai or Darjeeling calmly, without haste, perhaps accompanying everything with a small glass of orange brandy, ratafià or rum … do not overdo it!

I love the carefully prepared Mint Tea: Green Tea and mint leaves strictly fresh in a pyramid-shaped sachet immersed for a few minutes in hot water (90 ° -95 °). I personally avoid adding sugar to the hot water.. !! and to leave the leaves in infusion for too long … otherwise what the Berbers say happens: “the first glass is sweetened like life, the second sweet like love and the third bitter like death”.

Mint Tea is an excellent digestive after a meal; excellent thirst quenching in summer; great travel companion!
