London in the time of Coronavirus 2 – Kyoto Garden Aperitif, June 2020

Come on…let’s go for a walk even if it is drizzly. This lockdown appears as never ending here in London, fortunately we can go running and walking.

Let’s stay in the area and take a walk around Kensington.

We have never thought to say it, but we actually enjoy looking to the windows of the closed shops ! However, those are galleries and antiques shops. Suddenly it seems stops raining and we decide to walk through Holland Park… lovely, when the weather is bad there are no people around and it is definitely more charming.

…And while walking into the park we realise that the Kyoto Garden has just re-opened, what a great news, it has been closed since the beginning of the lockdown.

The Kyoto Garden is one of the most beautiful green corners in London, a Japanese garden in the very centre of Holland Park. It was constructed in the 1991 to celebrate the Japan Society in Britain and commemorate the long lasting friendship between Great Britain and Japan.

It is stunning, more than usual, perhaps because we have not seen it in so long.

We feel like celebrating as well, a Sakè would be appropriate for this occasion but…,today for our aperitif we prefer a Prosecco D.O.C.G…which, obviously, we will go to have it at home!
