La Cocottina

Wonderful winter, with the cold climate, the burning fireplace, the Scottish cover, the comfort food … and the coccottina, a discreet friend who gives us the expectation of a special dish, warm and fragrant just like it once was.

The cocottina, made of enamelled cast iron or simple ceramic, is always in fashion in every country and place, from the countryside to the city. It doesn’t take much to be trendy: a bright pop color or a particular shape, bulging, oval, rectangular … ..

The cocottina is suitable for slow cooking, for gentle cooking over a low heat, which requires time, dedication, reflection but in the end it gratifies us with the aromatic intensity that it gives to every preparation, from stew to soup … and why not also to cream pastry.

Let us give ourselves special time to cook without haste, let us pamper ourselves with the food we love, in pleasant solitude or with those we love … in short, let us pay ourselves little attention in the company of a cocottina and the winter will be regenerating for the body and the soul.
