Lime or Limetta

Lime (Citrus aurantifolia) is a citrus fruit from Asia, with interesting nutritional properties and cosmetic virtues, rarely eaten as a fruit because harsh.

Widely used in cooking to flavor the food, in the preparation of drinks, sorbets, cocktails such as  Mojito, jams, jellies, exotic dishes or as a condiment (Spaghetti with Clams and Zucchini Flowers), sometimes served with curry.

Lime is also used in the preparation of skin creams (making the skin nourished and brighter), to stimulate the digestive system (thanks to organic acids), to facilitate the dissolution of fat (two drinks a day of water and lime are a real help to burn fat), to give a boost of energy, for the preparation of disinfectants, toothpaste etc,

Lastly, lime is coposed by high quality vitamin C, phytonutrients and flavonoids (good source of antioxidants counteracting the action of free radicals), vitamins B, minerals, acid folic, mucilage and organic acids. Therefore lime is tonic, refreshing, diuretic, antiseptic and antibacterial.

Warning! it is important to choose a quality fruit, ripe, with bright green skin, juicy, firm, fragrant and not mushy.

Lime can also be in our company in the garden as the plant is highly successful because it is an evergreen, fragrant and blooms all year round!
