The Castle – Termoli

The Castle – Termoli

Beyond the wall of capers in bloom.

Big. Strong. Guardian.

It stands alone in the wind from the sea. The dreaded sea, that wanted it, exacted.

Expects the high walls, red and powerful. They meet and everything is around the Old Village, like a hug.

Swabian and proud like Frederick II, Stupor Mundi”, King.

Shadow of his Lord, his magnificence, his strength, severity and protection. Symbol.

Demolished. Built and rebuilt. Extended and modified.

It assures and reassures, defends.

Safe haven.

Tower inside a tower. Precise geometry.

Stone walls, compact, that opens loopholes, like throwing and screaming mouths to hurt the earth and the sea. To save.

The Castle is sitting there, mysterious, solitary and secretive.

Melancholic Giant.
